Description: Scale appears as small white or brown “shells” on the plants stem or leaves.
Habitat/Food: They will attack almost any ornamental or garden plant, sucking the juices from it.
Life Cycle: Incomplete metamorphosis (egg, nymph, adult).

Interesting Fact: The females never leave the protection of their scale after forming it, but the adult males, which do not feed, develop a single pair of wings, leave the scale, and seek out the females.
